Make A Footstool Workshop
Hide & Thread are now pleased to offer a Make A Footstool In A Day workshop.
With expert help, materials and tools, you can make a footstool in a day!
Workshop participants will make a footstool from start to finish, including learning upholstery basics such as: making a frame, placing the foam and using fire retardant inter-liner where required, working with fabric patterns, upholstering a footstool including corner pleating, applying the base cloth and waxing and attaching legs.
Tools used with include hammer, drill, power screw-driver, Stanley knife, hydraulic staple gun and shears.
You will leave the workshop with a retail quality footstool that you have made yourself to be enjoyed in your own home or as a gift for a loved one!
Workshops will be from 10am til 4pm (approx), tea, coffee and cakes are included; recommendations are provided for lunches at lovely local cafes and restaurants.
Workshop participants can choose to bring their own fabric or choose from a wide range of wools fabrics from Abraham Moon, fabrics from J Brown or a range of cotton animal prints (e.g. stags, pheasants, bees etc as seen on Crafted Home Décor!).
Make a Footstool in a Day workshop prices start from 100 for a small footstool (450x 300× 300mm including leg of 150mm) in customers own fabric, up to 140 for a small footstool in Abraham Moon. Bespoke sizes can be made, just call to discuss your idea.
We can take up to six people in a workshop, but places must be booked two weeks in advance so fabric can be ordered.
We still have spaces on a Mother’s Day weekend on Saturday March 26th but Easter Weekend (Saturday April 16th) is sold out. If you have a group ready to go, dates can be added, get in touch to discuss.
